Have you seen the news?
Stripe, a commonly used payment processor, dropped Wishtender. It’s sad because they had so much promise, especially with 100% payout. But, discrimination against sex workers comes with consequences like these.
Apparently, they have a back up plan, but just in case, I’ll talk about alternatives.
To be clear, the issue is not Wishtender shutting down or completely losing payment capabilities. The issue is time. They want to keep things running smoothly, but they may have to wait.
Depending on how quickly they can get a new payment processor, there might be a lapse in payments.
For now, I strongly encourage my fans, submissives, and random bystanders to send tips through LoyalFans only.
***Please keep in mind that this is a hastily typed opinion piece, and I strongly suggest going directly to the sources for the most accurate information.
What’s Happening With Wishtender?
The payment processor Stripe changed their terms of service. They “decided to part ways” suddenly, leaving creators and the site scrambling for alternatives.
International payments are the most at-risk in this situation. It seems like models in the United States have more options. But, Wishtender has a backup plan. If it goes through, then models should be able to receive their money without any change.
It seems that direct payments to US models’ bank accounts are safe. But, using Stripe Connect will be paused on February 15th.
Models outside of the United States have until February 9th to get their money from Stripe Connect. Afterwards, payments via Stripe Connect will be paused. Direct bank payments to non-US models will stop completely on February 20th.
The difference in language, “paused” vs. “cease” on their announcement is interesting to me. I don’t want to be pessimistic, but it seems difficult to find solutions for international models.
They also encourage international Wishtender models to open a bank account in the United States to continue to receive payments.
My Wishlist Is Still Available
But, I’m a bit paranoid.
I’d rather you tip my paysites like LoyalFans, SextPanther, or even Clips4Sale. I don’t want the money I’m given to get caught up.
When you see me start posting Wishtender links again, that’s when I believe it’s safe. They’re being very open with creators, so I’m optimistic. As of now, the wishlist site isn’t shutting down. But, better safe than sorry.
Wishtender Alternatives for Cash Gifts
Here’s what I’ve heard through the grapevine.
I’ve considered signing up for YouPay, but it may take some time. I did recently sign up for NiteFlirt, and I’m still working on my listings. It’s something that’s in the works, and it’ll have to happen when I have more time on my hands.
Throne also uses Stripe Connect. As of now, they have not been suspended by the payment processor. I’ve used my Throne Wishlist for a year with zero issues.
My main site is LoyalFans, and I also accept tips on SextPanther. Sadly, I do not receive 100% payout like I would Wishtender, but I’m happy with these sites.
If any of my fans, submissives, or random readers insist on giving me 100%, there is one option! Crypto. It makes people paranoid, hearing about crypto payments. But, I’ve successfully been paid through Coinbase multiple times with zero issues.
Crypto payments are instant, and I do get 100%, minus some small fees. So, if you’re interested in that, you’re welcome to ask for my crypto wallet’s code.
