  • Tribute, or No? A Discussion in the FinDom Community

Free Newsletter | Pay Goddess | OnlyFans

You won’t find me in the middle of FinDom drama, but you will find me picking apart their arguments. 😉

Something came across my Twitter feed yesterday. It made me think.

As I spend my Christmas relaxing, I had a bit more time to be on social media. So, I’m leaving likes, compliments, and retweets on whatever I enjoy. Then, I came across some ragebait.

She deleted the Tweet before I could screenshot it. Also, I do believe that she gets her followers from clout, so I refuse to directly call her out.

    via RedGIFs

    It said something like:

“New Dommes are stupid.” – Don’t completely disagree, but we all start somewhere. She was also brand new when she made this exact post.

“You are ruining FinDom” – As though she owns the course of the kink.

“I just saw a girl with no minimum tribute.”

That last statement is what caught my eye. It made questions swirl around in my brain at a mile a minute. All caps, no filter, and this Domme is complaining about new Dommes with no minimum tributes?

Why Did This Tribute Drama Catch My Eye?

    There are a few reasons.

One, a minimum tribute puts you in a very specific niche. Choosing to target one group of people and losing millions of potential viewers is not smart for a newbie. Yes, the right guys (and women too!) will find you eventually, but it will take a while.

Some FinDom creators wait weeks (or months?) for that first tribute.

POV: You’re physically incapable of funding my Throne items because I have no minimum tribute. 🙁

Two, I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt.

My curiosity got the best of me. I looked at her Twitter profile, and there it was. A tribute below $50 was in her bio.

    via RedGIFs

This Domme is pressed over less than 3 figures, and that’s interesting to me. (My tone is judgmental and sarcastic if you can’t tell through text.)

On top of that, is she only getting money from tributes? Does she think that that’s the only way to financially Dominate a man? Is she doing entire sessions for $30!? I have so many questions.

Three is the biggest point. It’s the reason why I decided to write this.

Upfront Payment Is Valid and Necessary

If you’re one of my subs, paying is always necessary. *mwah*

Also, I don’t mean perform services without getting payment. Let me break it down.

A potential submissive finds you. They think you’re hot, and they want to serve you. They’ll spend time doing the following things:

    • Scrolling your Twitter, Instagram, Reddit, etc.
    • Looking at your website.
    • Clicking your links.
    • Googling you.
    • If you’re into FinDom, they’ll probably send you money.

If a man wants to impress you, he’ll send you exactly what he thinks will do so. He may even upcharge himself just to make sure. Sadly, the experiences he has with other women will also dictate this. So, the epidemic of chatting for below $50 continues.

That’s not me being bitter about other women’s prices.

That’s me, calling out the average sub and telling them that they need to do better. The experience that you want doesn’t exist for cheap.

    Back to my point.

What does he think will impress you?

Then, he sees “$25 minimum tribute”. He has $1000 to spend. You’re a discount opportunity FinDom.

If you tell him “again”, that’s $50. That’s still a discount.

Triple it? That’s $75. Another XXX% off for him.

He just blew his load and saved a ton of money. Good for him! You’re cheating yourself.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having minimum tribute requirements in your bio. Looking down on others for not having one when they make more money than you, though? Yeah, that’s a no.

My Experience Without a Minimum Tribute Requirement

Asking for tributes upfront makes sense to me, but I don’t do it.

I don’t need upfront payment to squeeze money out of a man’s wallet. Most of my subs, finsubs included, approach me and immediately spend. As I’ve said before, financial control is so much hotter than today’s FinDom era looks like.

do ignore messages that won’t seem fruitful. Those who aren’t interested in learning how to submit properly get no acknowledgement.

About 30% of the time, they realize that they need to give Goddess her offerings and do it. (The other 70%, they either leave me alone or rot in my DM’s forever. I <3 both outcomes.)

Would you like to know how much they send? It’s not anywhere near two figures.

If I had $30 minimum in my bio, they probably would’ve only spent that amount. Instead, they took the initiative to show me that they were serious. That’s so much hotter than being demanding.

    Women Lead, Submissive Men Follow

Plus, there are so many kinks that FinDom compliments, and a tribute is not necessary to partake in them.

Does New Testament God demand to be worshipped? (Old Testament is up for debate lol.) No, he simply waits for his subjects to make the right choice. If God were more demanding, he’d have a minimum tribute. 😉

In the same scenario, a Goddess does not have to force submission.

She waits for you to find her. You approach respectfully with offerings in hand. You thank her for the opportunity as she descends from her Divine throne to accept what you’ve given her.

Then, you might be blessed with her presence.

Is it better to be feared rather than loved?

Neither. I prefer to be Worshipped.

  • Legitimate Marketing Advice and Its Relevance to Sex Workers

Legitimate feedback to marketing experts, developers, those in the tech industry who want to dip their toes in the adult industry.

I collected general marketing advice from Hubspot and MasterClass to fuel this debate.

“Now, more than ever, consumers lean on trust as a leading factor when deciding whether to do business with a company.”

    Why This Advice Applies:

Trust is a leading factor because of guilt. They may be worried about the ethics of the porn they watch. Female clients and left-leaning clients in particular as of 2022 – 2024 actively search for ethical porn, but it is something that male clients consider.

    Why It Doesn’t Apply:

For clients who patronize sex workers, the priority is impulse spending.

If a client legitimately has a crush on the sex worker, and if we can provide a very specific fetish/kink while having the “look”. We may look like their girlfriend or their wife, or a coworker that they have a crush on.

This is still a play on trust, but it’s not something that we can account for on our end.

“Do customers have pain points that no existing company is addressing?”

Customer pain points. Post nut clarity. They do not mix well.

We have paint points with the clients, and the clients are in denial about it. Because our image is the product, we get physically exhausted.

I personally do not pay attention to client pain points because I create content based on fetish. If they don’t like it, they should have read the description, looked at the thumbnail, watched the preview, and even asked me if the video has exactly what they want.

Basically, we have to prioritize ourselves, and our clients follow.

Our feedback system revolves around user comments and one-on-one interactions.

Review sites will simultaneously criticize models and steal our content. Some of our clients have legitimate concerns and want to tell us how to improve. They do not want to be on the websites that abuse us.

“Growing a business centers around generating awareness among consumers”

Brand awareness is important. However, fresh content is a priority with porn performers.

ManyVids and LoyalFans in particular prioritize new content, as does Google.

Sites like PornHub, XHamster, and XVideos are good for generating brand awareness. On account of impulse spending, it’s a waste of time in my opinion. If you are not online, a client will go somewhere else.

Dommes and sex workers as a whole have different niches. Popular models like Britney Amber might prioritize brand awareness. But, a newer or less popular model would not be able to reach that rank in the same way.

Mass popularity isn’t possible for a new model unless they start trending.

Actively trying to trend isn’t a possibility for models with low rank or social media shadowbans. They could niche down and aim for brand awareness based on fetish, but they’d be relying on a handful of clients for money.

    Make use of marketing tools

MelRose Michaels, the founder of SexWorkCEO, is a great source of information. So many sex workers do not have the tools to bring their rank up. The priority is client retention and money.

Every app and website that we use actively works against us.

I discovered that a lot of marketers, developers, engineers, and tech industry experts have excellent ideas. But, the disconnect is our pain points.

If you approach the adult industry with an idea, keep in mind:

    • Sex worker and client safety/privacy take priority.
    • Do research on the laws that hold our industry down: Project 2025 and SESTA/FOSTA
    • Our terms of service prioritize consent and are a slave to Mastercard/Visa.
    • Your skills are valuable, but they have to specifically apply to sex workers.
    • If you’re easy to anger or averse to criticism, get the fuck out.

Tech Industry Experts, Here’s Where to Start

Most of us are sole proprietors. I will never work for an agency. You may have the experience to guide new models, but there are other ways to monetize.

Chaturbate has a community of developers who create apps for models. You can visit their Developer Portal here.

Most of us are sole proprietors. I will never work for an agency. You may have the experience to guide new models, but there are other ways to monetize.

When fansites were the trend, many of the webmasters went straight to the models. They were working backwards and actively avoiding marketing experts.

They were trying to make fast money. I do not create accounts on new websites that have zero clients.

If you’re looking for places to pitch, targeting those websites is a good idea.

You can find model pain points on sex worker led spaces here.

    Optimize for smartphones.

iPhone, the App Store, does not allow explicit adult content.

Many websites have to find workarounds, and they are model-centric.

The clients do not have access to the same tools we do, tools that make it easier to purchase the product.

The laws that make it more complicated to sell porn and fetish content target clients. So, the developers on our end do not make client-centric apps.

“31% of the 1,400 marketers in our most recent State of Marketing survey say short-form videos yield the highest ROI,”

Short-form videos got popular after the TikTok wave. They’re an excellent marketing strategy.

However, when you have too much free content, you will not get clicks in the porn world. We have to go back through our feeds, delete the majority of our content just to pull clients towards our paysites.

    “Ad Exhaustion”

This is excellent marketing advice. It’s easy to post too many ads. My genuine advice to sex workers is that showing personality is key.

We are simultaneously a product and a person. Our existence is a niche, and we are all unique.

Ad exhaustion applies the most on social media. When we try to trend or prioritize traffic, we post the same thing back-to-back. Creating fresh content on a regular basis is exhausting, and we have to find ways around that.

Conduct price research. Use pricing research and case studies to help your company find an acceptable price point for a new product.”

The answer to this switches on a dime.

Customers categorize us in their minds based on body type and fetish. They do have certain price points, depending on the fetish. But, you’re stuck there because you can’t change the way that you look.

There are ways to mitigate this, and it’s mostly a beginner’s paint point.

    “Let customers hear from you.”

Our clients love free conversation, and the more free conversation they get, the less likely they are to pay.

If they do not pay you within the first 3 messages, they aren’t going to pay at all. Some of them live on our websites and feed off of free conversation. They literally message hundreds of us every week.

AI seems to be a good fix for this, but we will see~

Leverage the ‘Attract, Delight, Engage’ model to create tailored content for each stage of the buyer’s journey.

This is a basic marketing sales funnel, which is effective. Like I mentioned before, clients who pay well are looking for specific fetishes and experiences.

So, it’s easier to work backwards.

I start with the fetish. I will publish the keywords on my blog and social media. However, the content already has to be ready because of the impulse spending factor.

So, I have to make the video first and *then* create bite-size content.

In summation, “coming soon” does not work.

Don’t just put out fluff content – put out content that educates your audience and answers their questions thoroughly.

This is a great tip because, many clients don’t know the how or why about their fetish.

They are genuinely interested in learning. They know that they have it. And sometimes they’ll get stuck in a binge/guilt cycle.

The ones who do their research are able to reach those conclusions more easily.

It also validates them. They wonder whether or not the performer they’ve been eyeing understands their fetish on a fundamental level. They like to know that they’re in good hands.

They love walking into that water when they know that it is safe for their puny manbrains.

Marketing Advice Geared Towards Sex Workers

Sex work is a closed practice for many reasons. They look towards their community for advice and rarely accept outside influence. Many newcomers also learn by making mistakes.

On top of that, the majority of new SW’s only last around 3 months before they quit.

Good advice that I found from my research on this article: Attract, Engage, Delight.

When one of my strategies run stale, I like to do a revamp. I’m in a fast-paced industry, so I do my best to stay up-to-date with best practices.

I discovered Attract, Engage, Delight. Because general advice usually doesn’t apply to Dommes, I’ll take this trend and put my own spin on it.

My job is all about creativity, and it’s easy to find a loyal test subject who’s ready to be experimented on~
